The Gulf coast is better, sort of

Ok, above is the FEMA trailer here in Biloxi, when they finally sent relief down here. Below are the new Katrina cottages. These things are slightly larger than the campers above. The Democrat in me says, “Damn this really sucks. What did they use all that money on?” The republican in me says, “Well, at least they have a roof over their head.” The realist in me says, “Seriously, it’s good they have a roof over their head but someone really dropped the ball here! Fire whoever that person was and all his sub-managers.”
PS: People in Biloxi are pretty nice folks.

Welcome to Biloxi.
Actually as much as rent is down here, the folks in Katrina cottages are doing pretty good. Since most of the real estate got wiped out there is no such thing as affordable housing. What used to rent for $300-$400 a month is now $900-$1000 a month.
Yea, I am sure they have it pretty good. My wife’s family are down here still and they have been telling me about everything that goes on down here. I just thought it was pretty lame that the media makes it seem like everything is honkey dorey.
