The Lighter Side of Code

I am a fan of Google Chrome, but recently I installed an update and it totally jacked up my install.  Now when I launch Chrome I get the about:blank page and can’t go to any sites.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  I originally thought that the problem was with my firewall or anti-virus, but after going through all of their options and logs, I have ruled that out.  If anyone out there know what the deal is, please help!

I really enjoy coming online, when I have a chance, and blogging about random things I find or I am currently thinking about.  I recently, today, got a response from someone who decided to not read my blog because I am talking about politics.  I talk about football, politics, my beloved ColdFusion, cool products I find and use, etc.  I don’t know if anyone else realized this, but this is a hot election and I am very intrigued by it.  The person that responded obviously didn’t like politics, and I understand that but I still have the right to open up a debate about it.  I really don’t like talking about code every day unless I have something to share with the community.  That is why I named my blog, The Lighter Side of Code (Personal & technical ramblings…), because there is more than just code in the world.  But, for the guy who didn’t like me talking about politics…I will get you some code talk real soon. 

It was pretty funny though.

Well, I just finished watching The King of Kong on Netflix, and I have to say it was interesting.  The documentary was definitely in Steve Wiebe’s, the contender, favor as Billy Mitchell, the champ, was portrayed as the evil one.  I have to admit that Billy Mitchell was arrogant.  I laughed a few time as he flexed his fame and acted like a super star as he treated his friend like punks.  If you are into documentaries, suggest you check this movie out.

After you watch this, let me know if you think that Mitchell cheats on the video he taped.  I thought it was pretty weird that the tape churned and the numbers changed abruptly.  I have never seen that in a nonstop recording, and copying doesn’t produce that type of artifact.  Oh, and why didn’t the guy play Wiebe head to head?  He talked about playing in person and playing head to head, but yet he didn’t do it on camera in the movie.  Lame.  Billy Mitchell seemed lame to me, and I thought his lawyer friend was a better person than he was.  Any views on the matter?

Ok, I have decided to host my blog using blogger while I make modifications to a open source widget I am writing. Blogger is good enough in the time being, but my end result is to have the blog hosted back on jimmieclub and using flash. We’ll see how it goes.
